This is my Parker Hale Musketoon in .577 that I bought for dad a few years ago. He can’t use it anymore, so I have it back. I can’t wait to take it out hunting! This one was a limited edition here in Australia

It will shoot patched balls as well as the .577" diameter minie ball bullets originally designed for use in it. That's a beautiful rifle.

That's a real beauty! Even the case is well made. What would you hunt with that? Charge and bullet?

John

I will mostly hunt pigs, goats and deer with it. 560gn Minie and 2F

They live right up the north of the country, but never say never!

I really I really like the stock and the grip

Cheers mate

Gun porn...

It's a little bit sexy....

Thank you. I have both for it, but mostly shoot Minie's

Is that a maple stock?

It would be logical were it curly english walnut, but it may be maple imported to the British isles. In any case, it looks like PH did a fine job on your rifle.

Very nice.
Witnessed Larry Talley at Friendship shoot one sitting off his knees at 500yd rams- once he found the sight picture, he began hitting nearly every shot.
Enjoy.

I'd really like to have a rifle like this I'm going to have to take a hard look at that Pedersoli,, often catch myself looking at the Gibbs and the English Rigby but it's more from stock design and ergonomics for me. This parker rifle looks quick to point, easy to carry, and like it would just feel good.

It certainly does feel good in the hands. I highly recommend them if you can find one!

I think the Pedersoli replica would be all I'm able to find, but I'm also interested in the cook and brother carbine, I know I want the stock lines I see in the parker hale.
