Thank you for saying that.

I have a contender carbine in 7-30 Waters that was my sheep rifle. Killed 4 Barbary's with it. Under 6 lbs. with scope and sling. When i had pistols, I had a TC 2 power scope on it. Missed a chance at a javelina once at 20 feet because I couldn't find it in the scope. Mounted plastic sights on top of the scope after that, and of course never got a chance to use them.

The 7-30 is an excellent cartridge.
Hard to improve on that one!
... but we keep tryin'

Lewis i dont why you had problems. I have 2 G1 contenders and barrels in 35 Remingtom, 357 Maximum, 7mm TCU, 44 Magnum, and 45/410. Never had a problem ever swapping barrels between the 2 frames. Would like to get a 30/30 barrel or a 7mm Waters 14" barrels for them.

That is exactly why that brake is on there, threaded and pinned to be in compliance for use with a buttstock.
A super 14 barrel with extension don't shoot no better but sure handles nice as a stumpy carbine.
