Another bullet 350 grain Arrow Max very first shot just missed the red ring I decided to go ahead and put the next four in the group even though I realize for score it was not good however look at how well the rifle barrel likes to load this is 43 grains of and-120 450-453 shallow Groove Woodman arms Barrel

I have agreed to help out score keeping & anything else that I can do to get this postal match going.
There was some talk of a separate 50yd & 100yd open sights matches for the sidelock guys or the guys limited to western sights rules, that will be included in this now.
We are going to open it up to include 100yd, 200yd, & 300yd entries in both of the current categories.
For those that did not want to participate in the match prior to now, I completely understand. I hope that you all will feel comfortable in participating now & helping this postal match get going & become a permanent thing that we all can enjoy together.

I’m not making the rules here, but what I’m suggesting to have is two categories with one for traditional sidelocks with open or open sights only & one for the modern inlines with iron or open sights & the same front rest & rear bag.

I’m not making the rules here, but what I’m suggesting to have is two categories with one for traditional sidelocks with open or open sights only & one for the modern inlines with iron or open sights & the same front rest & rear bag.

My thought is we use the same targets for easy cross over. 50 yards would be open to any black powder or sub side lock using any iron sight or peep sight. Shot off hand. standing to imitate a hunting situation. My though is that to hunt we ought to be able to hit a 6 inch target to use that weaoon to hunt with.
Open to discussion maybe a 10 inch target?
The 100 yard open to any open sight or peep any action any powder. Front and rear bags/rest OK again target open to discusion

Those photo copy targets that we used were just fine, even at 200yds after we blackened in the X ring. It was too hard to see the small X ring if it’s not colored in.
Me personally, I’m perfectly fine with that 6” target out to 300yds. It’s plenty big enough for the 100yd shooters & puts a little challenge to the 300yd shooters.
I normally use 2” stick-on’s at 100 & 200yds. The biggest stick-on I use is 4”, even out to 400yds.
I understand that not everyone can do that the same way, I’m all for the 6” & 8” targets being used.
We all should be able to hit either size at 50 & 100yds even with a sidelock.

I originally wanted a 10 inch target but shoot N c didn't make a suitable target
Best I could come up with. Maybe you know of something that fit the target requirements that I'm missing.
The cost per match is 3 dollars.
One could theoriticly shoot for a year with those 12 targets.
That's not really the goal here its to get people shooting more.
Take a look around let me know what you come up with

I went on Hodgdon website earlier today to check on BH209 for someone.
Then with a Mike Tyson level sticker shock it hit me, how many guys are willing to shoot up their BH209 in the postal match regularly at that price & availability.
I’m down to only a cpl lbs & I’m not going to shoot it up at my range,
But I have a sidelock & plenty of T7 & a cpl SML’s now so it’s no big deal.
I think that is going to impact all muzzleloader shooting with all modern inlines build for BH209 & as it well as affect everything else associated with the muzzleloaders.

Will amend the rules to reflect if it's legal to hunt its OK by me. If no one else objects.
