Now that I have a Super 91 .451 rifle I need to figure out which powder to use. I have a crap ton of Kik FFFg so I am hoping that works out well. I also have 4 or 5 lbs of Goex FFg and only one bottle of Pyrodex P and a bottle of 777 FFg. What are y’all using in your .451s? I will be using the No Excuses 460 gr bullet

I use (recently) Swiss 2F (thanks @Idaholewis) now.
I used to shoot Pyrodex p and have used 777 3f. Didn’t notice a lot of difference between all three, but I do like that “rotten egg smell” of real black, it’s not that much more expensive either, the Swiss is a much quicker ignition, I don’t notice a hang fire at all. I do notice a slight, ever so slight but it’s there, hang fire with Pyro p.
Do an accuracy test with what you have on hand, and go from there.

what did you end up using and how much volumn for that 460 no excuses ?
