Should be able to keep it as long as you want as long as no air/moisture gets to it.

I have powder nearly as old as I am. (66 today ) just keep the lid on tight and store in a cool dry place. I keep all my powder on the floor of the basement. Its always 5-10 degrees cooler there.

I am doing a similar time test. I have a bottle of pyrodex that i dont intend to use so well see if it still works fine in 50 years if somebody finds it.

This opened can was part of my Dad's stash. He passed in 1996, so it predates that event. Its been stored in a temperature- controlled closet since that time.
I loaded up some .45 Colt cast bullets with it.
Fired just fine.
