Below are the chronograph results from shooting a wide range of ammo from various manufacturers in both 445 Super Mag and 44 Remington Magnum, from my CVA Scout V2, with a 20 inch barrel. The chamber was reamed to 445 Super Mag by D & T Custom Gunworks (Website: http://www.dandtcustomgunworks.com/ / Contact Info: https://dandtcustomgunworks.websitetoolbox.com/post/contact-information-page-2045537 ). The rifle wears a Zeiss Conquest DL 2-8 x 42mm with the illuminated #60 reticle, using a DNZ Game Reaper scope mount (https://www.dnzproducts.com/product/game-reaper-cva/) . The rifle was refinished in NP3 plus from Robar Industries (https://robarguns.com/custom-firearm-finishes/np3-plus/). I replaced the standard stock with a thumbhole CVA Omega stock, and stuffed the hollow portion of the stock with rubber foam pipe insulation for sound deadening purposes.

I fired all of the shots with the rifle on the BOG Death Grip Tripod (https://www.btibrands.com/product/deathgrip-shooting-tripod/), and used the Competition Electronics ProChrono DLX chronograph (https://www.competitionelectronics.com/product/prochrono-dlx/), which was 15 feet from the muzzle, as measured with my Simmons Volt 600 (https://www.simmonsoptics.com/rangefinders/index.aspx) laser rangefinder. The target was set up 25 yards away, as measured by my laser rangefinder. I am in Virginia, approximately 500 feet above sea level, and shot these shots today under alternating cloudy/sunny skies, with an ambient temps of 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit, and variable breezes from the SW at about 3-7 mph.

Reed's Ammunition & Research, LLC – 445 Super Mag, 225 grain Barnes XPB (https://shop.reedsammo.com/445-Super-Mag-225g-Barnes-X-445SM225BX.htm)

1967
2057
2045
1894
1991
1965

Average velocity: 1986 fps

Comments: The velocity difference between these rounds were why I shot so many, along with the fact that I had extras to spare. I was disappointed with the wide ranges of velocities between these rounds, and will likely not order these again. Acceptable group.

Mr. Cribb is the proprietor of this fantastic outfit, and is great to work with. He loaded a sample pack of ammo for me using the Cutting Edge Bullets 200 grain Raptor (https://cuttingedgebullets.com/44-200gr-handgun-raptor), and marked each of his five separate 445 Super Mag load recipes with a red, blue, green, or black mark, with the final group having no marking. I did not ask for his load data, as that would be stealing business from him, but if you contact him and reference this post, he will be able to help you. If not, let me know, and I will help. He was the ONLY company I could find willing to load the 445 Super Mag to the specs I was looking for, and he did a great job! I would highly recommend him for your specialty ammo if you don't roll your own ammo.

Superior Ammunition - CEB Raptor - RED - Best velocity, worst group

2389
2387
2381

Average velocity: 2385 fps

Comments: The RED ammo produced the best velocity, but was the worst group of the CEB loads, although it was acceptable, being minute of deer, which means a 1” group at 25 yards.

Superior Ammunition - CEB Raptor - BLUE - Best combination of velocity and group

2317
2314
2330

Average velocity: 2320 fps

Comments: The BLUE ammo produced the best velocity and group of the CEB loads, with all shots occupying shared holes in the target. This will be my new whitetail hunting load.

Superior Ammunition - CEB Raptor - GREEN - Third best group

2257
2269
2258

Average velocity: 2261 fps

Comments: The GREEN ammo produced the third best group, with all shots touching.

Superior Ammunition - CEB BLACK - Second best group

2188
2182
2207

Average velocity: 2192 fps

Comments: The BLACK ammo produced the second best group, with all shots touching.

Superior Ammunition - CEB NO MARKING - Fourth best group

2126
2137
2150

Average velocity: 2137 fps

Comments: The NON-MARKED ammo produced the fourth best group.

Superior Ammunition 445 Super Mag with 225 grain Barnes XPB bullets

This is also a sample pack of ammo in which Mr. Cribb marked each of his five separate 445 Super Mag load recipes with a red, blue, green, or black mark, with the final group having no marking.

Superior Ammunition - Barnes BLACK - Best group and velocity combination

Comments: The BLACK ammo produced the best group and velocity combination. My choice for a whitetail load using the Barnes 225 grain XPB.

Superior Ammunition - Barnes NO MARKING – Worst group/best velocity

2032
2026
2037

Average velocity: 2031 fps

Reed's Ammunition & Research, LLC – 445 Super Mag - 270 grain Speer Deep Curl/Soft Point

1670
1685
1714

Average velocity: 1689 fps

Comments: This was a special order load, and is not listed on the Reed’s website; I had to call and ask for it. I was disappointed in this load, as it was LESS powerful than the Buffalo Bore ammo using the SAME bullet, as listed below. A loser for the 445 Super Mag. Acceptable group.

Buffalo Bore – 44 Remington Magnum - 270 grain Speer Deep Curl/Soft Point (https://buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=53)

1671
1685
1744

Average velocity: 1700 fps

Comments: No, these numbers are not incorrect; I double checked them. A real winner for the 44 Rem Mag shooter who can shoot this effectively. Acceptable group.

Underwood Ammo – 44 Remington Magnum - 300 grain XTP

1423
1446
1428

Average velocity: 1432 fps

Comments: This is a load that is no longer offered by Underwood, although I would not buy it again anyway. Acceptable group.

Doubletap Ammo – 44 Remington Magnum - Barnes 225 grain XPB (http://www.doubletapammo.net/index.php?route=product/product&path=125_195&product_id=400)

1620
1647
1655
1646
1654

Average velocity: 1644 fps

Comments: Doubletap advertises this ammo as producing 1500 fps from a 7.5” barrel; I doubt this ammo does that at my elevation. Acceptable group.
