I have a Whitetail with a bent lug. I have seen where guys have had a square reoil lug welded on. Does anyone here do this type of work. I'd like to have a lug bolted on and the stock bedded. I've tried to explain it to a few gunsmith and they don't seem interested. The guns not in the greatest shape, but it shoots nice. Thanks as always.

Since you're going to have a square lug installed I recommend having a second square lug put behind the trigger guard on the receiver.
Model 97 white's have the second lug which makes the rifle very sturdy and accurate.
A good gunsmith should know what you want and how to do it!

I recently bought a lug from DOC, but am having trouble finding A smith locally. I may send to doc. I hadn’t heard about the rear lug idea…
