A cheap one no. A good one absolutely! I have an Ultradot 30 on my Ruger Super Redhawk .44 mag and have shot hundreds of rounds through that thing and have not adjusted the dot since the initial sight in. With many of those loads being full house bear stopper loads. That gun recoils a heck of a lot more violently than a .50 muzzleloader.

I just put a 2.5 moa Red Dot on my CVA Optima .50 pistol. This gun has recoil way more than a .44 mag with the load I use and it has held up just fine. I had it to the gun range this morning and had to make a very slight adjustment to get it zeroed at 50 yards. Very happy with it. Very clear. 40mm tube, 2X power. Target acquisition is instant and no searching for the dot. This model has 11 grades of dot intensity.
