Lost my leather and velcro scope shroud used to protect my scopes when shooting my open ignition White ML's. Can't seem to find anywhere to buy them now.New one does not necessarily need to be leather.Any info would be appreciated.
Thanx

You could always use black electricians tape, I know that works. If they made a camo electricians tape that's what I'd use. Need to find some myself!

PM me your address and I will send you one. Got one from an old Knight that I got rid of. All my MLs are now closed breech.

I just lay a piece of pliable leather across the action to shield the scope.

I use black electrical tape. With a little work you can completely cover everything and hardly notice there is anything on the scope - assuming its not a silver scope

Has worked for me for many many years on my Knight plunger rifles. The soot just wipes off the tape when cleaning. :yeah:

Funny you should mention that. I have an old boot tongue that I cut out of a boot I was recycling, that I use at the range. Had to cut out a square slot for the scope mount post, but it works and protects.

how about couple of photos o; that shroud to give us some “plans” to work from!

I made mine from some rubber fishpond liner. Used a 3/4 socket as a guide and cut holes for the scope knobs. Glued 2 strips of velcro, 1 on the end, and 1 where the strip ended. (Left side of scope). Stretch holes over the knobs as you wrap it, velcro holds down the end.
I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.

Here's my setup...

Here's my setup...
Thanks for the photos! Looks like it works pretty good to protect the scope. In retrospect, I spoke with Marlowe Richards (White Muzzleloading) yesterday about a new Bison rifle. Sent him the deposit funds today in mail and going to have him drill and tap 4 holes far enough up the barrel to mount an EER (scout style) scope without any blowback interference from the #11 cap and powder. He’s also going to drill me two holes behind the bolt on .860 centers for the Skinner 860 peep and cut me a 3/8” dovetail near the muzzle for a fiber optic front sight. Then I can use two Weaver #11 bases and QR scope rings to easily go between iron and scope sights. Sort of the best of both worlds. Looking forward to getting the rifle in a few months and using it this fall in CO for a cow elk hunt. Also ordering the replaceable nipple breech plug from Bestill Creations for the Bison. He recommends teflon tape for the breech plug in lieu of the Bblue Molly for easy removal of the plug. Who’de of thunk it! But it makes good sense when ya think about it. I am definitely gonna give it a try on my Whitetail.

Im gonna pick up a couple of Bestill breech plugs for my Whites.
And a Lyman 57 to go with my Williams Western fiber optic globe.
Trying to draw a New Mexico elk tag....

Sorry, must’ve missed this post earlier.

Yeah been looking at a couple. Have an email into Lyman to see what, if anything, they will do to warrant their product. So far crickets…
