Hello everyone, its been a while since I've posted. Around Thanksgiving I sent my .45 cal. T/C Hawken in to Mr. Hoyt for some barrel work and I got it back in early February. . .I went with a 1-26 twt. for some 300 grain conical bullets. I'm just now getting around to shooting it (I know. . .sinful!) and I'm looking for a rear peep. The Lyman 57 and Williams FP just seem bulky and like they would catch every vine and low bush in the woods and I'm leaning away from them only for that reason. I was looking at the Skinner Renegade and like the simplicity of it (I'm solely a hunter) and wondered if anyone has ever mounted one on the back of a barrel just in front of the breach plug? I've seen enough barrels drilled and tapped this far back for scope mounts, so I feel this to be not much different. I also realize this sight is made for the Renegade barrel which has wider flats than my Hawken, but I could live with that if I could mount the Skinner all the way back. To those in the know, what do you think. . .go for it or hold off??? Thank you.
