Steel vs aluminum mold

Most of my casting has been done with brass and aluminum molds, for lighter handgun bullets. So I am looking at ordering a couple of molds for .50 and .54, probably the I bullet. What’s the best material to use when casting large bullets?

I prefer Steel/Iron Molds, i cast REALLY Hot, Aluminum and Brass don’t play well when casting as Hot as i do, They Gall EASILY. I have always said a Steel Mold is for Life, I can’t say that for Aluminum & Brass Molds

I agree with Lewis, steel/iron also seems to be very forgiving, course the only aluminum molds I have used are round ball and I have never used brass molds
