Heck, get the bh209 breech plug for shooting any type of loose powder. You'll be less likely to have any type of ignition problems with it. On plug for pellets one for powder. jJIC.

maybe try some compressed air might be as simple as that

Clean out the flash hole. I used a very small drill bit and air compressor. I use a little larger drill bit to clean primer Pocket. I too am a total newbie. I ML hunt for roughly 1 week total during our Georgia deer season.
