    IMG_0261.jpg My son was successful again this year. Not a monster but it fills the freezer. Thats why we hunt.

    My son loves everything archery and loves to hunt deer. Unfortunately our state only allows one deer a year and a 9 day hunt. It makes it tough for an archer to take a deer let alone a mature buck. I wasn't raised a trophy hunter, it was always a bonus, more meat and something to help remember the times spent with family. Whenever I asked my dad to shoot a bigger buck he would always say: "you can't eat the horns, boy!"

    I agree. Be it tenderloins, bottled, sauteed with mushrooms or made into stew it's still better than tag soup. Much better for you too.

    Nice. That terrain looks pretty open so any deer with a bow is a trophy.
