I got the chance to take my oldest grandson out on a Youth Deer Hunt this year. He shot a doe last year with his other grandpa. We hunted Saturday morning and saw a nice 8pt but he never gave us a shot. At 5:45 pm Saturday afternoon this 200+ lb 9pt stepped in front of us at about 50 yards. Vinny put one of my 30/30 hand loads into his boiler house. He ran about 60 yards and rolled another 40 down a hill. I couldn’t be prouder of him getting his first buck.

Well done. Congratulations!

Cheers to that young man! It brings back memories of my granddad putting me on my first buck in 1955!
Take a youth hunting and they will have those memories forever.
