Will be hunting Merriam's in South Dakota in April. Been wanting to take my muzzleloading shotgun. Was wondering if anyone has advice on transportation of of powder in luggage. With conventional firearms I haven't experienced too much of a problem.
But this is first year taking a black powder firearm.

I suspect the loose BP or subs and loose primers in your luggage is a no go. Browse the airline's web site for what they say about firearm and ammunition.

I looked into powder on flights. And there is a thread either here or MZ forum. It's a no! No Black powder, loaded smokeless cartridges - yes.
Best to find someone there to pick you up some well before your trip, or drive.
