Congratulations Steve! What bullet/load did you use and was it a DRT? 😁
Same as the 4point Ed. 488 bullshop, wool wad, 80 gr. T7 3fg. Remington mag.#11 cap. Hit him a tad high off hand shot, tore out his lower spine. Dropped in his track's!
He was walking fast towards hay field where does come out. I got him to stop with a "bahhhh" works every time!

Good going. Hunting in my spots has been tough. Not seeing much activity.
This was the third time in my stand. It's just a board nailed between two tree's. I hunt on the ground after breaking my leg in '93 after a tree stand fall.
I have killed six bucks now from there.
Hang in there should be better after it decides to get cold and stay cold.

I have hunted seven days so far in southwest Virginia, Grayson County. I have seen three does so far total where I am used to seeing 20-25 deer a day. Rough start to this season. Heading back out tomorrow through Monday. Sure hope there is more sign of the rut there with more deer activity. Weather is unseasonably warm with many days of rain and high wind.
