white bullets

I have a White Lightning, musket cap ignition, excellent condition. I also have boxes of White .50(.503)Power Punch bullets in 460 grns and 440 grns. Plus a Box of White Buck Buster, .50(.500) in 445 grns. My questions are first, suitable loads for the Power Punch bullets for Whitetail, and second the use of the Buck Buster in .500 in the same application.

I am going to start at 65gr Goex under a 435 in my WL and work up from there.

I think you might well find those aren't the best choice of bullets in that rifle. But since you have them...

I like the Goex recommendation but I prefer Swiss in 3F.

The no excuses bullets also shoot well and hit hard.

You’ll probably find your sweet spot around 70gr of 777-3F or Swiss 3-F. I prefer Swiss myself but if I can’t get it I’ll use 777.

Have two Whitelightings one likes 65 grs (volume) of 777 and the other 80 grs with my own 451 gr bullets. Both shoot good harvester sabot (green) 44 mag bullets (Nosler) and 80 grs of 777.
