can someone please tell me why there are so many holes in this receiver? Also there is no writing on the gun at all, i did not remove gun from stock? I would have thought that it would say White Super Safari and serial number on it. I would like to put different sights on it, are these hole spacings what you guys also have, give or take a couple thousand??E00D330B-E4C6-4836-874A-5F7BAC859F70.jpegE00D330B-E4C6-4836-874A-5F7BAC859F70.jpeg645ABCE1-CCD6-4E6A-98CF-DED3BD46F2A6.jpeg

Super 91 book says that the front receiver holes and the back receiver holes are both .840”. Clearly they are different?196DAABD-7311-4056-A841-92898A4F0A7B.png

Ok this is what i wanted to say, the super 91 w series book says that it is drilled and tapped for weaver scope mounts. Rear receiver is number 35, front receiver is number 46. Barrel breach is number 11. Went to weaver hole spacing and it shows number 35 and 45 both hole spacings at .860” . My receiver is not that..8AD5DFD6-5CF1-40B1-B283-E8E50F7C8927.jpegA164AAEC-785C-434A-A528-8B041F6903ED.jpeg20CEA6E9-24F7-4FFA-B58E-CFE2D65648F0.jpeg

The hole spacing for scope mounts look just the same as on my other Super Safari and on my Super 91. In my ad I said it was unmarked. I don't know why but some rifles don't have markings it should have no effect on the gun.
Are you having buyer's remorse?

Absolutely not, just trying to figure out what the hole spacings fit as far as my options are.. and what size of screws..

These are identical to the bases and rings that mine wears

Yes the holes spacing looks the same. I like warne products. Evidently the Weaver base mount specification for the rear receiver mount is wrongly worded as in the front receiver mount too..

Just got off the phone with Marlowe Richards, what a great guy. We discussed all my questions and concerns about the White Super Safari. He said my plain jane wrapper was either a kit build gun or one that was built when the company was splitting up. He gave me alot of loading, cleaning and caring info also..

Right. The boy scouts ( kitguns) or last paycheck ( employees guns 😁) as I mentioned .

1874, you hit the nail on the head..now to get a decent day to shoot this beast…i also want to get a different front sight, fiber optic with hood. In my archery days we could get fiber optic in .019” and .029”. I wonder if gun sights have a similar option, as I always liked the thinner .019”…shorty

Marlowe also told me something that I didn’t know.. he said that a 50 cal. Muzzleloader, 24” barrel, percussion, shooting black powder would waste any powder over 120 grs. By blowing it out the barrel not yet fully burnt.. i found that very interesting. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me, us, Mr.Richards…..

The tale has been told that this was the way early frontiersmen "developed" a load for their flintlocks. Legend has it, that while shooting over fresh snow, they would increase the charge until unburnt powder started showing up on the snow in front of the rifle. That was considered the max charge.
