I purchased a Colt/Uberti Police 36 caliber with 5.5 inch bbl. This is a small frame 5 shot, similar to the baby dragoon. Used, no box. If I got the cardboard box, I would be done. I did not see any repro wood cases available for this frame & barrel combo. The army/navy model cases for the next size up frame and those are expensive. I did find a wooden cigar box that fit as though it was made to order.

For what ever it maybe worth, the right size cigar box can be a great bp revolver container. It could be custom finished with dividers. I am very happy with mine, as-is and still labelled for the cigars. I think, back in the day, this is the kind of practical solution a typical gun owner would taken.

Nothing special about the one I got. Some boxes are thick and heavy with beautifully decorated labels. This one is thin and made simple, no latch.
