I just received a new muzzle loader of unknown origin and manufacture. Can anyone help me find out what the markings on photos of the barrel mean? I'm guessing that the 1-66 means 1 twist in 66 inches, and the 62 means 62 caliber, but that's only a wild guess. Note the large R with the 62 resting on the R. Does the R indicate the manufacturer? Thanks for your help.

I would agree that its probably a 1-66 twist .62 caliber. The R might be a maker's mark. Its hard to say. Is this a custom barrel?

I assume that it is a custom barrel but I also wonder if it is made overseas. The only thing I know are the markings shown in the photos.

Those look like nice barrels

CNC cut rifling instead of button and stress relieved according to the description.
