SOLD .54 Rolling Block ML Take-Down Rifle Pedersoli

Offered for sale or trade is this cool takedown rifle. The 26.5" octagon barrel with 1:24" ROT is held to the action by a breach retaining ring that threads on. I will include the wrench to remove this, and an extra ring in the event you misplace one somehow. The rolling block action uses #11 percussion caps. It is the ultimate in reliability because it is "in-line". Pedersoli does sell a musket cap and 209 primer "nipple" for it if you are interested. The stock has dings and scratches from the previous owner and I who both took it hunting quite a bit. The bluing has wear and grey streaking in places. The case hardened hammer and block are very nice looking. The hammer has a half-cock notch for safety. The action and brass are nice. The rear sight is a simple elevator slide but also features a micro-adjustable blade (Lyman style) with two set screws. The front sight is a tapered post that is currently colored orange with model paint that can be easily removed. The flat butt is comfortable and spreads any recoil. The take-down feature doesn't effect the sight as they are on the barrel. It is super convenient to take it down and put it in a small case when transporting. I've used a take-down pool stick case for car transport and a short, take-down shotgun case for airline travel. To and from a wilderness hunt you can easily put it in a backpack for hands-free travel. This rifle shoots patched round ball very well with 80 grains of FFg and a .018 -.020 patch. I've used it for 50-yard deer hunting with PRB and it works great. The rifling must be complimentary to a tightly patched ball. It also shoots 430 grain Maxi-Ball with over powder wad and 80 grains of Triple 7. With Hornady Great Plains Bullets 425 grain it doesn't need the wad but tends to prefer 95 grains of just about any BP or BP Sub. It is sighted-in at 100-yards with conicals right now. With the sale I am including whatever conicals I have. The ramrod is black metal. This is a hard to find rifle in .54 caliber. Kittery Trading Post has one for sale now for twice what I am asking for this one! I have not seen another in the past 5-years. I would like $500 Shipped continental US. Pictures are about the best I can get it. The rifle is accurate with a variety of projectiles. There is no rust. I can try to get a better photo.

by no rust do you mean no rust ever or just none in a cleaned up barrel now, it looks like in the pics there is obvious pitting in barrel.. just trying to clarify for the newbies who might be thinking of purchasing.

When I purchased this it was a year or two old and used. It arrived clean and shiny and has been kept that way for many years of hunting around the world. I have no knowledge of any previous rust or other issues. The photos make it look quite worse than what you see in person. The bore is smooth, no patching catches on anything. It loads easy and consistently with no "rough spots". It looks the same as it did when I got it. It is very accurate. Priced less than half what the only other one for sale right now is at (Kittery Trading Post) because I am just not using it. Will include some projectiles, both Maxi-Ball and GPB's.
