Bad spot in bore

I have recently inherited a custom 45 cal. Half stock that shoots fine but has a bad spot in it barrel I have tried to remove what i think is rust with patches and oil with no good results any suggestions would be appreciated

Green scotchbrite on a undersize jag should do it May take quite a lot of strokes to get it clean

I agree with GN. Try the pads first. JB Bore Paste is a product that works well to clean up a bore.

Wrap some 0000 steel wool around an old bronze brush, oil it up and gocat that rough spot repeatedly. Keep adding steel wool as necessary to keep it tight. About every 50-75 strokes run some dry patches down the bore to check your progress. Repeat as necessary.
