A buddy of mine has had cougar hunting on his wish list for years. This year he planned a hunt that would run thru his birthday. On his birthday, he hit paydirt. Not certain which state or other circumstances, but this is one huge mountain lion.

Tastes like chicken or is that veal? Either way heard it was great back when or now !/Eds

Wow that is a good sized kitty. Congrats to him. Don't think I could ever hunt a cougar unless it was hunting me of course.

Now this lil kitty in Central Illinois is marked.

Enough to make him big and healthy , nobody warned him he'd be a little easier to catch (to fat) and harder to miss !!!/Ed

Well done. Congratulations!
Anyone have an Outfitter recommendation for a good Lion Hunt?

Let's see now. Paws wider than one's head / from ear to ear a head as wide as a man's shoulders and weighs about as much as a standard 4-wheeler; just a harmless kitty cat.

That is a big Tom. Where was it taken and was an outfitter used? If so which one?

We have cats around our place all year, my wife fed one a load of 00Buck in the face at 22 steps a couple years back. We see fresh lion tracks after every snowfall.

Here's another picture that helps put the size of this cat in perspective. Kyle is maybe 5-10, 175 pounds and here's his mitt with one of the cat's paws.

Kyle says the cat weighed in at 170ish, about what Kyle would weigh. He hunted NE Nevada in the Ruby Mountains. The cat was taken with a .243.

Knowing Kyle, I am guessing a full body mount is in the plan.

My great uncle had a ranch in the Ruby's and it was full of monster mulies and lots of cats. I sure miss those days back in the 60's. We always stopped in the Jiggs bar and watched the pet bobcat walk on the bar top!

Kyl is getting the full mount. That will have to be something to see. He's having the skull measured professionally after the required drying time.
