I was thinking in a few years of getting a Carolina Skiff to use as a striper guide in a few years, I think it would be ideal. Do any of you have any experience with one of these?

Dwight, I fished from Skiffs in the back bays. If you anticipate Big Water conditions like wide open lake conditions etc. i would opt for a semi 'V or Whaler style w/Mod V. The Skiff is a great boat for workin the shallows though.

R-Man check out triumph boats[www.triumphboats.com]. I think you'll like what they offer as far as fishability and durability. Very nice boats.
