So I did some sorting & measuring today just to see how these Cheddite 209’s compare. Measured the primer length for 10 randomly selected of each kind.

Cheddite 209 : .293, .294, .2935, .2935, .2915, .294, .2935, .292, .294, .294
Avg. .2933
ES = .0025”

CCI 209 : .298, .297, .298, .298, .296, .2985, .298, .298, .2975, .2985
Avg. .29775
ES= .0025”

CCI 209M : .298, .2985, .2985, .2955, .299, .2975, .299, .2945, .299, .2965
Avg. .2976
ES= .0045

Also I went thru 300 Cheddites measuring and sorting and came up with a 100 pack of .291’s and another pack of .292’s, then a pack of mostly .293’& .294’s

That’s good info! Thanks. I did the same thing last week with four different brands myself. Crazy how much variation you see.

UPDATE: I’ve been working with my daughters youth Buckstalker and the Fury STB GREEN TIPS lately trying to get her dialed in for the mule deer hunt here in Utah. Anyway we have been having ignition issues, hang fires and ftf occasionally with BH209 and this has not happened before. Using CCI 209’s and I noticed they were very dirty after firing and we were getting more blow by than usual.

So today, I decided to give the cheddites a try, and what a difference! Absolutely no blow by happening now, fires every time and good accuracy to boot! They do measure shorter than normal CCI’s do but for whatever the reason the Traditions Buckstalker seems to like them.

That looks like muley grouping. Nice work. The first thing I think of with BH209 and people having poor accuracy is whether or not they are getting blowby and stuck primers. If those primers are not fully sealed, things are not going to work well. All three of my hunting guns seal up super good but two of them were not sealing so hot and I was struggling for accuracy. After getting the plugs and primers on course with each other accuracy came around big time.
