HOPEFULLY I will get to go to the range tomorrow.. I promised JJ I would bring a 6BR to Crossville for him to shoot so I wanted to work up some new loads! Tonight I started out by priming the remainder of my new Lapua 6BR Norma brass with a Remington no. 7 1/2 primer. I have thirty out of 300 left so I just primed them all up. Next I put 30.0gr H322 in each case and tried 10 each of Speer 70gr TNTs, Starke 68gr HP Match, and 65gr Hornady V-Maxs. We'll see how they do tomorrow!

Well here are the groups. Nothing really to write home about. The wind was kicking my TAIL! I thought about not shooting them at all. The Starkes(center two) and the TNTs(botton two) did pretty good and I'll give them another try. Surprisingly the V-maxs didn't(top two). Still a 0.60 inch average for six 5-shot groups using 3 different bullets isn't too shabby. Throw out the V-Maxs and the average is .53 with the TNTs averaging .45.

Well today I tried some more loads in the 6BR. This time I'm using once fired brass. The neck on my rifle is .271 so I resized 100 brass using a Redding bushing neck die with a .268 bushing. I was going to try .267 as well but this one looks okay.. I again loaded up 10 each of 3 different load combos to shoot two 5-shot groups with each load..

Load one was a 70gr Sierra Blitz King and 30gr H322. It didn't group so hot. Group 2 was the 70gr TNT and 30gr H322 that I tried the other day. It actually did about the same.. Load three was my tried and proven load for this rifle 31gr AA-2015 and a 58gr Hornady V-Max. This load shoots just as good as it ever did! :D

To date the 58gr V-Max load has averaged .35 inches for all groups fired with a small group of .27 and a large group of NOW .44! ALL 5-shot groups! Average velocity for this load is 3367fps.
