Lyman Globe sight

I am looking at putting a Lyman Globe front sight on my GM barrel and was wondering if any of you have done this and which height you went with? My barrel is 1" across the flats in a Renegade stock with a TC tang mounted sight, not the vernier sight. Lyman shows heights of .404, .464 and .494.

I did put one on a TC .54 barrel. I used the .494
I also put the Lyman 57 ml tang peep on.

I know those globe sights are great for target work. I've never used one. How are they for hunting?

I have little experience so far hunting with one but Idahoron has several and swears by them for hunting
