Hi fellas, just bought a new lyman great plains rifle, 1-60 twist, just wanted to know from you guys that have them, what particular round ball seems to work best and at what powder charges seem to give the best accuracy, anything you  might want to add is welcome !...thanks

Mine liked 75 gr FFFG 777 and a patched ball. .530 ball an .018 pilllow ticking patch. It would shoot ball-ets over the same powder charge even more accurately.

My Lyman does best with a .530 home casted ball, pillow tick patch, moose milk lube, all on top of 90 grains of Goex 2f. They are a real accurate rifle.

Thanks guys, one more question, WHERE do you get ball-ets ? never seen them around here !!

Ball-ets are made by the Buffalo Bullet Company. I order them on line from a number of different stores. They shoot very good out of most rifles...

cabelas sells them in .54 caliber. I believe they are 310 grain.
