If we got one-tenth of what was promised to us in these State of the Union speeches, there wouldn't be any inducement to go to heaven. ~Will Rogers~

I just think it's best not to hang your hat with ANY politician. Yes, we have favorites, and may favor a particular 'side of the isle', but there's a long chain from their rhetoric down to our individual lives.

I met a guy once in WA State who blamed his lack of a job on Congress. I guess it conveniently took the responsibility off himself.

Yeah, I'll vote, but no matter what the outcome is, forward I plan to go. YMMV.

Politicians are like a baby's diaper. They should be changed often, and for the same reason...

In all seriousness ... Actually politics and candidates are a topic I avoid even talking about anymore. I was at a gathering lets call it, and someone began discussing candidates running for office. They asked my opinion and so like a fool I gave it. I never saw a couple of my friends come so unglued so quickly and even a little venomously angry (of course they'd been drinking alcohol that day, and I don't). It was then I realized, like discussing religion, politics was a topic where you just could not please everyone. And some people I discovered ... take it personally.

Right on cayuga.
I have a relative in his 60's that votes one party only, whoever, whatever. I asked why? His reply......"Because my dad did", he could give no other reason! :huh?:
