Was in a low stand overlooking a trail when this eight point buck showed up. Never saw him on game cameras. Chose a high behind the shoulder shot and fired: The buck went down, thrashed for about 30 seconds and lay still.

Distance: About 40 yards
Rifle: .50 Encore
Scope: 4X Zeiss Conquest
Bullet: 250 grain SST in crush rib sabot
Powder: 120 grains of Black MZ
Cap: Winchester 209

Nice buck. I have found the SST to be accurate in my inline, so glad to hear the report on performance. I'm impressed with you're hitch-hoist as well...
 
There ya go. Now mix some of that pork with the trimmings from this guy and make some summer sausage.
 
Dandy buck, been told by more than 1 pro butcher that that is the proper way to hang a animal to enable the body fluids to drain down and out from the choicest cuts of meat.
