Ya'll...I'm not collecting powders...but boy you'd THINK I was! :lol: It really HAS gotten out of hand.. I have at LEAST thirty powders...this can really be more of a problem than a benefit. No way can I POSSIBLY use this many powders. In fact some have sat there for years. I used to really strive for THE best powder in a particular cartridge...probably leaving one that would be just as good, if not better sitting on the shelf. So the question is....how many and which powders does it take to get all your reloading chores accomplished?

Here my list(kinda from fastest to slowest):

If you want...I didn't... I was sorta thinking just for centerfire cartridges..
 
I will take a swing at this from my perspective, as of course that is the only one I am privy to :D

Chuck I would like to thank you!!!! This has finally forced me to learn the burning rates of the powders I have on hand!!! 20 years of reloading and I've never paid much attention to it. I sure hope the local volunteer fire department doesn't view this board... other wise they will never come near my home :shock:

Well I USED to used H4831SC! I bought it when it first came out. I liked it and used it a lot. AA-3100 has basically taken its place and I love that powder.

I also used to use W296 all the time. I thought I had some but maybe its at Harrys house. I've been using 2400 and N-110 in its place I guess.

Ammo stashes. That's scary. I looked in my ammo cabinet and there's a lot there. I don't know why but everytime I sit down to load I end up using the whole pound of powder or the whole box of bullets. At last count have over 300 rounds of 22-250, 150 at least of 243 couple hundred 30-06(more to come if my experiment for my auto loader works out) and if I go ahead an buy that Tikka 300 WSM will likely end up with a few hundred of those too. Also have a good supply of 22 LR, several bricks and lots of shot shell in 12, 16 and 410 guage. Have a couple boxes of factory loads for calibers I don't even own. Gee, do you think I have a problem or obsession :?
