Good looking gun. What is the barrel twist?

Barrel isn't marked. Looks like 1/48 maybe slower. I will try to get a better idea if I can find a 58 jag

I am only getting 1/3 turn in 24" so i am guessing around 1/72 if they made such a twist rate

Well that rifle looks awfully familiar. That is a good shooter. That is a 1:60 or 1:66 twist. I know, it used to be mine

Kb that rifle was mine and with 100 gr of FFg under a .570 ball with pillow tick patch and olive oil lube it will shoot clovers at 50 yds. I sold it to derf because I had way too many muzzys for a 70 yeR old goat!

I’ll pass this on to my 20 year old, we hunt elk. Did you ever shoot any conicals or a Minie (sp?) ball out of it. He wants the extra punch for elk.

I know very little about this but i would say this gun with sliw twist is mainly for round ball. It might shoot a short minnie but heavier conicals is a NO in my opinion
