    Scope suggestions

Buy the best you can afford or save for what you really want if not needed right away. Good scopes hold their value.

    Hello from Ohio

Welcome from Monroe Co.,Ohio. I don't shoot smokers any more so my fondness for the sml is biased but you can shoot other (Black powder and subs) from a sml. I personally would choose a break action (Scout V2 conversion) over the Paramount.

Load data or pressure traces for 180gr 10mm in MMP 40x50 blue sabot?

You may get a 40/50 combo to shoot with a sub base not sure. I never got them to shoot smokeless as it blew the sabots every time.

    Cleaning- When to Clean Barrel/Plug?

I do my HIS plug as Mnt monkey does about every 30 or so shots. I also remove the bushing retaining screw and re-grease it as I have in the past shot out bushings and had to replace them. I have exactly 100 shots on my new rifle wearing a Brux 18twist and it was still shooting small but I was...

anybody play with ballistic programs ?

I have been using shooters ballistic calculator for a few years and with proper input info it has yielded accurate within 1 click on the scope out to 400yds with a 100 yd zero. I just used it again last week to get a dial up for a new rifle and it was within 1/8 moa out to 400yds. It is free and...

Large Magnum Rifle Primers vs Large Rifle Primers??

You may get the big swings in cartridge rifles but I have never experienced much more than 10fps difference between lrp and lrmp with a(smokeless ML).

Large Magnum Rifle Primers vs Large Rifle Primers??

I use either, when I switch and groups change I adjust my load. We have to use what we can get these days and it has me buying powders I have never used but have known of others using. I do not target shoot anywhere near what I used to because of supply issue.

Remington old school 700 smokeless build

If the barrel is 1.200 you should be able to use a 5/8" plug. The plug opening should be done with a reamer not a drill bit.
