My CVA V2 Got WOBBLY at the range

All clean /firing kit changed out (have 3 extras) but this has been a progressive thing (I hate progressives) guess I'm lucky it isn't hunting season yet , I do have a backup (TC Renegade that shoots) . It does it with BP or BH 209 with my Magspark conversion (heard BH 209 is a no no with a side...

    Milk carton gas checks

I used to watch Hickok but some stuff didn't work for me , leading in grooves (not removed) eventually it is a problem . Leading is a non issue with proper BHN/hardness and proper sizing for your bore if you don't get those right you get leading . Hickok does not get that far into the sport for...

    Milk carton gas checks

Shoot lead free using Dura Felt wads or LDPE poly wads to prevent gas cutting of base (main reason ) deforming bullet base/leading under 1600FPS/ Harbor Freight sells (CHEAP) hole punch sets( $15-20 ) Ed

    Milk carton gas checks

If your casting your own either get a GC mold or Steal the wife's toaster oven and learn to PC your new bullets and like it was said shoot @ moderate speeds (1600FPS or less with soft) or for me with harder cast . BHN #s are only available to those that cast ,if store bought your at the...

    Which muzzleloader

My CVA Optima 50 aint garbage , does really well with full bore and sabots and shoots what I aim for up to 200 yds as good as I can hold . It just is a great (reasonable costing )rifle with proper scope costing more than the gun!! The deer can't complain , they don't ( live here ) anymore or...

Tungsten Turkey Ammo: Is It Worth It?

Perhaps in a BP muzzle loading shotgun it might help as those patterns seem weak @ times . Not traditional but maybe a big advantage with water fowl yardage and patterns ,and required by law . Only negative it is extremely expensive for a limit of anything!!/Ed
