i'm just thinking about my .45 cal ULA i have on order and thought i should start picking up components so i can find a bullet/sabot/powder combo. i would appreciate some help in locating appropriate bullets, cal., wt. make, sabots etc. thanks in advance, gary u

I like the 200SST and 195 Barnes(but plan on going to the 175), have had great accuracy from the 195(357) DC @ 2300'/sec, and plan on trying the 235(40)Hawk. The Parker 275 BE has been quite accurate for me and likely the 300HC will be even better(both sabotless).
200SST - Knight sabot,duplex 12/50 5744/H-322,WW,CCIm 2637'/sec
195DC - Supplied sabots,WW,10/45 5744/2015,Win209 2300'/sec
275Parker BE, RB's load 55g H-4198,WW 2400'/sec

SW; thank you for your help, please do not hesitate in passing along a few loads for those bullets. I still have about 4 months to wait but getting the bullets and load data and all of the info to wring this gun out is half of the fun. Gary U

Mine likes the 275 Barnes XPB's and the 300 bonded shockwaves... Both with H-4198 and SR-4759

I have heard of these bullets working in 45

From sabots:

200 grain SST, 195 grain Knight, 175 grain Knight (possibly discontinued) 235 grain Hawk and 195 grain PR.

The best sabot I've shot is the Harvester baby blue (that reminds me of a song) model.

Sabot-less

250 and 300 grain SSTs (sized) 250 and 275 grain Parker BE, 250 and 300 grain Parker Hydracon

I am currently working on getting the 290 grain TMZ to work sabot-less as well.

Anybody ever try the .358 Hornady 180 gr Single Shot Pistol bullet?

It looks like it ought to be a good flyer and the Interlock construction combined with the thinner jacket should make it a pretty good performer at ML velocities.... :?:
