A while ago I was looking through the bullet mold choices on the Accurate mold site looking for a bullet specifically for a 1-48" twist since there are a ton of these barrels available . I came across the 50-385M and thought , I really like the looks of this bullet but any of the online calculators I used showed a shorter bullet would be more ideal. I asked Tom at Accurate to shorten the bullet to .72" with 2 lube grooves and would like it to be 350 grains. The result was the 50-345 M.

I later found out the bullet I was using as a model was Idaholewis's design and I'm eagerly looking forward to his report on it, he has already stated that a friend of his shot a Elk with it .

Well I haven't had a lot of time to play with it but here is 3 shot group at 50 yards using 60 grains of 2F 777 with a 24" New Englander . Also shot about a 2 1/2" group at 100 yards which isn't great, but I need to experiment with it more. The bullet hole directly above the 3 circled was shot after sighting gun in at 100 yards, I wanted to see where how high it would be hitting at 50. Probably wouldn't hurt to invest in a shooting rest, all I'm doing now is resting gun on a piece of firewood and aiming for the center of the paper plate.

Good looking little Bullet!! I was going off my Lyman Plains bullet when i had my Mold Made, The Lyman Plains has proved AWESOME in Every rifle i have tried them in, From Stock 1:48 Twist, to Fast 1:28 Twist, in Fact i have seen the Lyman Plains slightly edge outvsome of my Custom molds. My dislike for the Lyman Plains is the Tapered Design (like a Maxi, Lee REAL etc.) The Tapered designs with ONLY the Driving band enlarged to engrave the Rifling have a tendency to “Give up” When being pushed down a Bore, especially so if using Pure Lead. I prefer a bullet with all bands the Same Diameter, And Slightly oversize a few Thou, and then Ran Through the proper sizer to fit “Per Bore” These hold the Bore GOOD N SOLID!

I will know a lot more about my new bullet soon, i have 6 of them sitting here on the table ready for a nice day to test them. I also sent 6 of them to Jonathan of Frontiermuzzleloading to test in his Stock 1:48 Twist Rifle. I will post both of our results when they are in

Well I think it's a great design with a metplat big enough to do serious damage yet not so big that it would hinder flight at lower velocities. I also like a bullet that all bands are sized to the same diameter.
