A friend came over Sun to do a little shooting.
He had 2 handguns 9mm & .45 both Glock sub compact.
He had a break-down “ survival “ .22 with 30rnd mags.
And he has a beautiful Henry Golden Boy Octagon Barrel 45/70 with 325gn SST’s.
I helped him sight it in when he got it. He’s young & it’s his first rifle. We zeroed it to hit perfect bullseyes at 50yds.
I HAD a foam “ wig head “ stuck on a 6’ length of 1/2” rebar that got used for pistol & .22 fun.
Here’s a video of putting a round perfectly in the tip of the nose at 50yds, which hit the rebar & theres a pic of what that looks like now.
That was COOL!

That’s great!! Just something fun about a 45/70! Bucket list gun for sure.
Thanks, it is a fun gun to shoot & really accurate. It has a decent reoil to it.
That Golden Boy Octo is almost too dang purdy to take out shooting. ALMOST

I saved this pic years ago and look at it every once and a while and think… someday…
