I went scouting on the river today and my dog jumped another hog in a thick jungle of palmettos. I never saw the hog and managed to get her off the trail pretty quick. The tracks showed that it was a small one.

It was so thick in there that I decided to fish instead so we (dog & I) fished for ~ 2 hours with a beetle spin. I caught 20 fish and kept enough for a meal or two.

My shoulder and neck are sore from all that casting. I don't relax when I fish, it's like combat fishing with a torn rotator cuff.

I'd take that over what we have here. All our freestone rivers are blown out with runoff.
