Loggy: 5744 vs. N120 for 300 gr.

For those here that have shot BOTH POWDERS w/ a 300 grain bullet out of a 10 ML-II. What are the pros & cons in going with either AA5744 VS VV120?? Simple question but my guess answer will be to the contrary.

I'm getting a lil low on AA5744.

5744 can be Lee dippered and still shoot very accurately.
5744 is better for reduced charge / low recoil loads.

N120 burns cleaner.
N120 yields better velocity.

Do you know if the Ball's have stayed with the AA5744 or went with the N120 for the 300's?

Loggy if mine shot any better I could'nt stand it. 300 grain xtp 45 grains of AA 5744 results in a 1 inch group. 250grain xtp with 44 grains of AA 5744 all holes touching :shock: . Imho its hard to beat AA 5744. But then again I'm just a rookie myself

Sure glad to hear your report snuffy!! I likely will just stay with 5744...why fight proven success.
