Modification using a 25ACP for Personal Protection.

In a discussion with fellow likes about personal defense handguns I was asked about using a 25ACP.
I gave it some thought then offered a reply with a modification to the piece.
I suggested taping up the slide around the front sight.
Use a file to remove the front sight down flush to the slide.
Polish the filed area as one desires.
The person then asked why is this necessary?
I replied "it isn't really necessary but it won't hurt as much this way when you pull it out of your A_S!"

Saved my family from a mad grizzly using a Raven 25... Just had to shoot my mother in law in the knee so that the rest of us could easily out run her

And on a more serious note 25 does have two distinct advantages over 22lr

Centerfire priming is much more reliable than rimfire

The rimless case design for feeding the a magazine fed semi auto


Also think in general it is a neat little round and it is a shame only cheap junk and sub-micro pistols are available in the caliber

One of my favorite pocket carry pistols is a Beretta Jetfire in 25acp. Not got the knock down of a larger caliber but easily fits in my pocket for carrying out to restaurants, ball games, etc.
