An OK resident went to TX and got 117 wild hogs.  He illegally brought those hogs to McCurtain county, OK with the intention of releasing them near Broken Bow.  A good citizen reported the perp and he was arrested and charged.  Some of the hogs were found to be diseased.

That guy must have been insane.  That part of OK is pretty well overrun with wild hogs.

The Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/1CBGK1M ) reports that 65-year-old Samuel E. Richards is accused of attempting to transport the swine to the land he owns in Broken Bow on Sunday. More than half of the animals had diseases that have been eliminated in Oklahoma's domestic livestock population.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, more than half of the swine tested positive for pseudorabies, which can be fatal to several different domestic animals and livestock. Some of the other swine tested positive for brucellosis, which can affect livestock and humans.

We trap, field dress and give away a lot of wild hogs.  Recently i've killed several big boar hogs and left them lay because it's impossible drag them out of that area.  i don't like to leave hogs to rot but the reduction of the hog population here is a must have.

what a dumb ass! I dont see why he'd want to release them if there are so many out there already. And then diseased?!
