How long is too long to keep/use pyrodex pellets? My pellets are about 7 years old. They light off every time and shoot very well. What happens when they get old? Thanks

I have read both pro and con of the shelf life of Pyrodex. If I had pellets that were 7 years old I would use them for some "Range" fun and hunt with the new stuff.

A "chronograph" will tell you everything if you shot the old and new at the same range visit.

I buy almost all my powder/pellets after season on sale. That being said,my "newest" powder/pellets are over 1 year old. I do keep my powder in a cool dark, and dry storage area in my basement. The ONLY diffrence I see is: you will see less $$$$$ fly out the end of your barrel per shot :) . If the propellent is kept cool, dry, and sealed. It will be fine. Ron
