I have used my TC encore to take deer as close as 50 yards and as far as about 125. the biggest being prolly 225 on the hoof. have never had an issue killing them with 100-150 grains of 777 and 250 grain TC shockwaves non bonded with the standard tc sabot.
now I am shooting 100 grains bh 209 with the same tc shockwave and have just received the harvester shorts but have not used them yet. the gun is very accurate, but yall have me thinking on the bullet size and the bonded issues.
the furthest I could ever see me shooting would be 200 yards. of course the shortest could be only a few yards if one walks under the stand.
what do you suggest? stay with what I have or step up to a 300 grain shockwave or go with 250 grain bonded?
