Jon,

In the new charts the last column is "DRIFT". If there is no wind, what does that number refer to????

Definition please.

drift @ 10 MPH. If theres no wind, then theres not going to be much drift.

"Drift" at 10 MPH makes lots of sense but the column just says "Drift". Since you are in Colorado, I thought it might mean snow drift.  :cools:

Drift on most ballistic charts means a 10mph crosswind. At least on the ones i've seen.

We don't have much wind down here except during hurricanes. The average wind speed in the south-eastern US is less than 12 MPH. Not enough to run a wind generator.

Too bad. Some wind might blow away those bird size mosquitoes you have there. :D

Actually funny that you don't have a lot of wind in Florida Pato , with all that water and heat the area should create it's own weather .

If you live on the coast, there's usually an offshore wind but 10 miles inland, it is calm. Lots and lots of trees block the wind also. The northern half of the state is woods but down south it is just wet grasslands and marsh. Maybe the wind blows down there more from all the "hot air" coming from Miami.

We are just the opposite here in SW OK. Wind generators stop a lot of times because the winds are too high. The other night at work it was 30 gusting 49. Most likely they said 49 because if the winds hit or exceed 50 they have to shut the flightline down and we can't work.
