Well my wife and I recently moved to Rhode Island (4 miles from the ocean) and I just retired after 37 years working for the same organization. Last year I bought a new outfit built specifically for the Cape Cod Canal, and this year after gettinbg a $200.00 gift from my colleagues I built an outfit for light saltwater fishing to remember my colleagues by. Let me start off by saying I can't afford and won't pay for the real "high end" equipment so I try to do research and get the best bang for the buck.

Canal Set-Up

Rod- Tsunami Air Wave Elite 11' , 15-30 lb test, 1-4 oz lures
Reel- Daiwa BG 5000 spinning reel
Line 30 lb Power Pro Braid

Retirement Set-up

Rod- Okuma Rockaway 10' 8-17 lb test, 1/2 - 2 oz lures
Reel- Daiwa BG 3500 spinning reel
Line-20 lb Power Pro Braid

I think both of these are going to work great, but I've got to wait a couple of months to put them to the test.
