Hello gents,

I have come across a rifle for sale made by Wilderness Rifle Works.  It is a .36 caliber percussion.

The price seems reasonable.

What are your opinions on this rifle and company?

Thanks in advance

All I've heard of were 50 or 54 cal, so right off the bat a 36 is interesting. I've never handled one of their rifles, but my recollection of other owners' comments are positive.  That's not the kind of detail you can hang your hat on, but if the price is reasonable and it's a 36, you just might be onto something.  The smaller cals are a ball to shoot, and I'm a dedicated small game nut.

If memory serves me correctly  they were produced by Deer  Creek  Products in Waldron, Indiana , Erwin Fagel owned the company at the  time....one of the rifle lines was the Cumberland, I had a 50 cal in percussion, the percussion worked fairly well but the flintlocks had geometry issues and frizzen  hardness issues...They were made in 36 to 54 cal...
