This explains why I lean toward the .54 and .58 when using round balls for deer. Though I've never hunted deer with round balls in a .45, many folks do with good results.

 
That is interesting information. I do personally like a .54 caliber over the others. It just seems to knock deer down and keep them there.
 
I too agree that bigger is usually better. I wish the data would have been with the same MV.
