PC and lube or just PC

Just getting started casting. Is it worth it to lube 40:1 PC'd hunting bullets or is it a waste of time and effort? Thanks

I dont think you ‘need’ to, but i would still lube them a little especially if you are using real black or subs other than bh209.

Check the fit of the PC bullets.
PC adds to the diameter of bullets. You may or may not want them powder coated.

Yes, using Swiss bp in a TC Hawken.

I will be sizing them to the barrel after pc

No need to lube powder coated bullets but they should be sized to fit your bore.

Yes, using Swiss bp in a TC Hawken.

The lube can help to make the powder fouling easier to clean up, even as the PC stops the leading.

I do all that or lube and then BLL( Bens Liquid lube) search on Cast Boolits Forum to seal the deal , but time doesn't enter the equation (I'm retired) Ed

Is there a real benefit to powder coat? In muzzle Loading I am novice on the powder coat I have seen it, I am asking what I have seen most of the coat is either removed or damaged upon loading.

I do and it only requires sizing before then again after PC ing to the desired size . I also have sized/lubed in a Lyman 450 lube sizer for Black powder applications (softens fouling) . Doing so increases size of a undersized (boolit mold ) while providing a ( jacket) for increased velocity allowing much higher than pure or incorrect BHN selection while retaining the expansion of pure at longer range than your used to achieving ! But then I'm retired so added steps to better performance from alloys produced by me just makes sense as I consider it another sport allowing additional trigger time available whenever I feel inventory is getting low . just sayin/Ed
