A serious lack of attention

I often wonder how people manage to leave the ram rod in a muzzle loader and shot it? I can only guess it is be cause of the husle and busle of living today.
Well here is a worst mistake. these pictures were sent to me by my brother in law. It happened at a gun club. the riffle was a Savage, not sure of caliber. I'll write My brother in law and see if he knows.

I really think every one should slow down, take a deep breath before it becomes deadly. Leave the husle and busle at work.

Saturday 30 September, there was a non-injury mishap on the lower range. A member, sighting-in his hunting rifle, forgot to remove the boresighter before firing a live round. It was a Savage bolt-action, I
believe in .30-06.
