In case anyone else is looking, a Weaver #46 works for the front holes in the barrel. This allows you to mount your scope farther forward for eye relief and clearance over the breech.
Trickyricky,
when younsay the front holes, you referring to the two directly in front of the breech area, or the two where the Williams sight was installed? Trying to mount a scout style scope on my Whitetail and if the spacing on the Weaver 46 is about .558 or there about, that makes it real simple (provided I can find a Weaver 46 someplace!)
I'm referring tom the two directly in front of the breech. I bought a Whitetail that had a 46 mounted in those holes and it worked perfectly. It gives much more forward clearance forthe scope.
